Results

  • 110 university programmes were identified across Europe, and their curricula were detailed.
  • Two (2) study visits were organised in France and Greece.
  • Fifteen (15) policy recommendations were delivered during the research project consultation and implementation within the Just Energy Transition programme, in collaboration with Power Africa, focusing on training women in the energy sector, as well as through research publications emerging from the FAIR Project.
  • 590 unique registrations were recorded by December 2025 on the FAIR Virtual Learning Environment.
  • Seventeen (17) presentation meetings were held with local market representatives and stakeholders regarding the project.
  • Three (3) case studies were conducted within the MSc programme as part of the mini-dissertation projects, contributing toward the target of 20 case studies, with 17 remaining.
  • Thirty-two (32) individual enterprises were identified for partnership through the MSc Programme Internship Programme.
  • Three (3) renewable energy efficiency investments anchored in blockchain technology are being proposed.
  • One hundred (100) households were reached regarding energy poverty and renewable energy technologies through last year’s research on energy poverty, and further research is currently being conducted on energy poverty and the affordability of renewable energy.
  • Two (2) household-level investments in solar energy and biomass were proposed through a research project at the Centre for Cyber-Physical Food, Energy and Water Systems, University of Johannesburg.
  • Forty (40) meetings were conducted with industry and academic stakeholders in the built environment and energy sectors, particularly focusing on the renewable energy nexus. Additional stakeholder meetings will be conducted once the MSc programme fully commences.
